Sunday Concerts in the Park

Sunday Concerts in the Park are presented every Sunday at the J. Arch Fraser Bandshell in Victoria Park from 2-4 pm starting on June 27.

Try…Kickboxing. Try…Quilting. Mondays and Wednesdays, 9:00 a.m. to 12 noon, St. David’s Church Hall, 18 St. David’s Ave., Bible Hill. The group meets in May and June before taking a summer break. New and seasoned quilters welcome.


Try…Competitive Boxing. Your first class is free, Truro Amateur Boxing Club. Classes are Monday to Thursday, 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Industrial Building, Nova Scotia Provincial Exhibition Grounds. Try…Photography in Victoria Park. Sunday, May 30. Morning photography walk in Victoria Park with members of Imagemakers Photography Club, led by Dave Dickie. Photograph flowers, waterfalls and scenery in the heart of one of Truro's jewels. Meet at the bandshell at 9:00 a.m. Walk will last approximately two to three hours.

Try… Visiting the Museum. The Colchester Historical Society Museum presents Horse Power to Horsepower: Colchester's Romance with the Automobile. The exhibit opens Saturday, May 29, 2:00 p.m. Discover how the car shaped the county, helped to connect people and offered many new travel opportunities. Try…Swimming at the Victoria Park Pool. Open from June 24 to Aug. 29, the pool is available at various times for lane swimming, public swimming, swimming lessons and party rental. Try…Getting Fit With Your Dog. The Town of Truro Department of Parks, Recreation and Culture has just launched Fitness Unleashed, a series of two, eight-week programs for dogs and their people. The sessions, June 7 to July 28, and Aug. 9 to Sept. 29, will be led by a fitness instructor and a canine instructor who will meet with participants twice a week.
