The Truro Fire Service provides a variety of fire prevention and public education programs to the community. A full-time Fire Inspector is available for inspections, special concerns, new construction, etc. The Truro Fire Service also offers training courses on fire prevention in the home, in the workplace, fire extinguisher training, and school programs. Station tours can be arranged for groups of children or adults.

Please be reminded that any open-air burning requires a permit. The complete Open-Air Burning By-law can be viewed by following the By-Law link from the Town home page. Permits are available at the fire station and cost $10.00.
