Technician is responsible for the examination and photography of crime scenes and searching for physical evidence which will assist investigators in bringing a case to a successful conclusion.
Photography
Digital photography and video recording, photo lineups and court preparation. The photographing of victims, property and accused persons, relevant to an investigation.
Evidence Collection
Collection, maintenance and storage of physical and DNA evidence at crime scenes, to maintain the highest level of evidence integrity as the use of new science is becoming more and more important in solving crimes.
Fingerprinting
Recording of fingerprints of charged persons under the Identification of Criminals Act, classification, comparison of unknown to known, analyzing, charting, photography, court preparation and expert evidence.
Plan Drawing
Reproductions to scale of major crime scenes as they existed at the beginning of investigations.
Court Evidence
Expert and opinion evidence.
