FisheramaEach spring, the Cobequid Salmon Association organizes a popular Fisherama at Kiwanis Park for youth 16 and under. Enjoy the ducks, but please don't feed themKiwanis Park has a significant problem with duck overpopulation. As many as 600 to 800 ducks have been counted at the park during the late fall. There is concern in the community that such high numbers contribute not only to turf damage but also provide ideal conditions for a major disease outbreak. The overpopulation problem is due in large part to public feeding of ducks. As a result, Parks, Recreation and Culture staff have been instructed to clean up feed left in the park.
