The Town of Truro has created a low power FM radio broadcast at 107.1 on the FM dial. CJIS - Community "Just-Information" Source became operational on November 6, 2003 and was awarded a permanent license by the Canadian Radio-Television and Telecommunications Commission in April 2004.

On the average day, CJIS 107.1 FM has a broadcast radius which reaches Mt. Thom to the east, beyond Debert to the north and Irwin Lake Road to the south.

The content of CJIS 107.1 FM includes community recreational and cultural events, street and sidewalk construction updates, history bytes, non-profit organization events and fundraisers, tide times and any other information which will be of interest to the community. This will be provided on a short, 6-10 minute voice loop recording which will play 24 hours per day.
