Truro is a medium-sized town with a population of approximately 12,500 residents.  The town has many historical buildings, as well as new business growth. With a new Elementary School and Jr. High School in town, as well as the new Colchester East Hants Health Centre and Civic Centre being built, Truro prides itself on being a progressive community.

Truro features unique a shopping experience along the recently revitalized downtown core of Inglis Street.  As well, The Town of Truro has a significant and distinctive collection of 19th and early 20th century buildings depicting Victorian architecture.
